The Condo kitchen is done!!

I wanted to add a couple pictures to the blog to show the final product of the kitchen in the Condo. Also, a picture of my "desk", which has been fit into what used to be a closet. There are still things to do but at least I can cook now.

Caleb playing Baseball

Here are a couple videos of Caleb playing Baseball. One video is Caleb hitting the ball and making a home run (except for one little trip at third base). The other is Caleb catching the ball and throwing it to first base. He is getting to be a really good little baseball player.

Dawn and David's Trip to Italy

I wanted to add a blog with some pictures from Dawn and David's trip to Italy. We kept Sean for them about 5 days. We had such a great time with Sean while Dawn and David enjoyed themselves in Italy. The first picture is Dawn and David in Florence.
The next picture was taken in Venice and the next was taken in Rome. The last picture is New York taken from the top of the Empire State Building.

Sean's Visit with Grandma & Grandpa

What do you get when your parents take a 10 day trip to Italy?? If you are Sean Abercrombie you get to stay with your grandparents. We went to Alpharetta on Wednesday, 5 March, to pick him up and we brought him back to Augusta on Thursday. Sean really was a good little traveler on the trip to Augusta. He spent the almost 3 hour drive pointing out to us each and every truck, tractor, and crane on the road.

While he was staying with us, Kim brought Caleb over to play with him. Sean would wake up in the morning saying, "Play with Caleb". The highlight was our trip to "Monkey Joe's" on Saturday. Sean was not sure he wanted to get into those "blow up" slides, but once he got the hang of it you could not keep up with him. He did not want to stay in the "little slide" but he wanted to follow Caleb through the "obstacle course". So Kim and Caleb gave him a little assistance to get through the hard parts but he went down the big slide and went back for more. Here are some pictures and videos from Monkey Joe's.

After Monkey Joe's we went to eat. Sean then took a bath and was ready for bed that night.

We took Sean to his other grandmother, Jenny, on Monday. We sure did enjoy Sean's visit but I know Jenny will also enjoy him while Dawn and David are gone.

Caleb playing Basketball

Here is a posting that I have been trying to get up for a while. The pictures are of my oldest grandson, Caleb. Caleb is five years old and he played basketball for the first time this year. He is the youngest on his team but he has a heart big as all outdoors. The pictures are not the best because they were taken from the stands and I could not get him to "pose for the paparazzi" while he was playing. As you will see in the little clip below, once he gets the ball he keeps it as long as he can. He likes basketball and has improved so much during this short season. Now he is getting ready for baseball.

3 Kings Condominum in Ocala

Jim and I have owned a two bedroom, two bath condominium in Ocala, Florida for the past 20 years. We have rented it out all that time but since we retired we have decided to fix it up . These condos were build in the early 70s and still had the "avocado green" bathtubs, sinks, etc., so the "fix up" turned into a big project.
One thing I will say about construction is that "Murphy's Law" is alive and well in this industry. But I don't take it personally any more because I have decided that it doesn't matter who you are, a movie star, millionaire, or the Queen of England, Lowe's will still lose your oven, the cabinets will not be ready on the day promised, and electricians and plumbers still won't return your calls or work on Saturday.
I will post a few "before" and "during" pictures and soon, very soon I hope, I will be able to post some "after" pictures.
KITCHEN BEFORE:

KITCHEN DURING:

KITCHEN AFTER (sort of): This is just the cabinets installed. Please notice this kitchen is not functional. We have no oven, cook top, dishwasher or sink. But it is another step in the right direction. I will post pictures when we get those things but this will show you the difference between then and now.
